I played this song many times Japan and U.S.A. memorial days.
people were glad to listen my song.
Last year I played this song for 3-5 year-old kids.
After my song, 3-year-old kids said to me,
"I felt that this song's image was a love song."
I said to him,
"What kind of love song?"
"Oh, A guy remembers his old girl friend."
I was very surprised and said,
"Hey boy. You have a good emotion."
"Quite natural."
A kid answered to me softly.

名曲オーシャンゼリーゼの思い出”LES CHAMPS-ELESEES"

　私が高校二年生の時（１９７０年）大阪万博が開催された。当時日本は高度成長の真っ只中にあったが、
「普通の日本人にとって外国旅行は夢のまた夢」
　これが現実だった。
私はガールフレンドに、
「いつかシャンゼリーゼに行ってアイスクリームを食べようね」
　こう言って学校の授業で使う笛でこのオーシャンゼリーゼを聞かせた。
二人で食べたアイスクリームは美味しかった。
私は三十歳の時フランスへ行きシャンゼリーゼを歩いたが、仕事だった為シャンゼリーゼに浸る余裕はなかった。
でもどちらも素晴らしい思い出である。

Several years ago, I went to the CARE HOUSE Hiroshima city Japan.
Over 70 year-old people lived in that house.
"Any request?"
I ask them.
"Amazing Grace please."
I was very surprised.
Their age were over 70 year-old and they are Buddhists.
"Amazing Grace please."
They said to me again.
"O.K."
I played the song with my harmonica.
After my play, they gave me big hands. And they said,
"Play one more time."
I was very surprised again.

広島の老人ホームを慰問した時の事、
「何かリクエストがありますか」
　と私が聞くと、
「あめいじんぐ・グレイス」
　との声が返って来た。
私はびっくりした。この歌をしている事にだ。
私が言うとおりにハーモニカで演奏すると、大きな拍手をくれた。
そして、
「もう一度演奏して」
　こう言うのである。
私は二度びっくりした。

　ひとつ前の私のブログに日本人なら誰でも知っている、
「旅愁、"Dreaming Mother and Home"]
 を入れた。
この歌は日本の音楽の教科書に１００年以上登場する曲で日本人ならだれでも知っている曲である。
第二次大戦中、ゼロ戦に乗っている日本海軍の兵士はこの歌を唄いながら戦ったそうである。私が、
「あの歌アメリカの歌ですよ」
　こう言うとびっくりしていた。
歌には国境もなく寿命もないのである。今からもこの歌は唄いつがれるであろう。

ステファン・フォスター「草競馬」の思い出

　私が小学校の一年生の時だった。１９６０年（昭和三十五年）の事だ。私は広島県呉市の小学校に通っていた。
戦争から十五年経って日本とアメリカの友好を願っての記念式典があった。戦争から十五年経っていたが、まだ人々の心に戦争の傷は深く残っていた。行事は盛り上がらない。
　日本側の進行係りで私の知り合いのおじさんが子供会の役員に、
「何か子供達でやってくれないか」
　と言って来た。
私はその時たまたまハーモニカを持っていた。六年生が私に何かハーモニカで吹いてくれないかと言ってきた。
私が、
「オースザンナ、草競馬」
　を吹くと、それまでの雰囲気が嘘のように盛り上がったのだった。両国の年配の人が喜んでくれたのが忘れられない。
あの時の事は昨日の事の様に思い出す。五十年以上前の事だが。私の一つ前のブログに動画を入れているので聞いていただきたい。

At that time people of both countries have something in their hearts Even though 15 years passed after Word War 2.
After I played this song, people gave me big hands to me.
I remember the day as yesterday.
